Netcore Solutions was launched by Rajesh Jain in 1998 to focus on affordable software solutions for Indian corporates. Rajesh Jain had earlier founded IndiaWorld Communications in 1994. From its pioneering start, IndiaWorld grew to be one of the largest collection of India-centric websites, comprising Khel.com, Khoj.com, Samachar.com and Bawarchi.com. IndiaWorld was acquired in November 1999 by Sify in one of Asia's largest Internet deals for $115 million.
Over the past 6 years, Netcore has built an impressive client base of more than 300 corporates and 600 locations in India and abroad for its Linux-based messaging and security solutions. From email to VPN, firewall to bandwidth management, virus protection to spam filtering, Netcore's products are one-stop solutions to build the backend infrastructure in large enterprises and small- and medium-sized businesses. In many cases, Netcore has leveraged its deep technical understanding to create customised solutions for its clients.
Netcore has a complementary set of solutions which can help enterprises reduce total cost of ownership of computing and better enable information sharing among groups with a goal.
Currently, Netcore is working to build low-cost thin clients and a centralised platform to make computing a utility for the next users in the world's emerging markets. The driving vision behind this platform - codenamed Emergic - is to make computers and broadband access available at a cost of Re 1 per hour. Emergic Vision
